How to save your photos for print
Lundeby is a leader when it comes to image production, and we are committed to always being at the forefront when it comes to quality and service to our customers!
We will therefore help you achieve the best result on your photos. Here are some tips to help you get there.
Settings
It is very important to follow our settings to achieve a good result. This is to match our machines and monitors so that we can guarantee a good quality.
File format

FILE FORMAT
Submit the images in JPEG format as in most cases it works fine and is faster to upload and handle. If we need to enlarge the pictures, we are happy to accept Tiff files (without layers).
With these formats, you can feel confident that nothing will change along the way, with colors and fonts.

PNG - BMP - GIF - PSD…
Manufactured without guarantees.
GIF and PNG is a web format that has no built-in color profile. PSD is Photoshop's working format that can be changed on the go, BMP is a windows format where the images can be mirrored, PDF with the right settings that contain JPEG files with the right color profile can be used for brochures etc.
NOTE! We can print in virtually any format, but can not guarantee the highest quality.

COLOR PROFILE
It is very important that all images are saved with a built-in color profile.
Adobe RGB
Without a profile, we can not know which color space to convert the image from.
When we produce composite products, it is important that all images are Adobe RGB.
Set up Photoshop as the instructions below:
The biggest difference is seen in Digital printing where sRGB becomes supersaturated and becomes too red. This becomes a big problem when color and black and white photos are mixed on the same card or album. To reduce the red color images, magenta is removed, but then the problem with the black / white images arises as magenta is also removed on these. The result is then that black / white gets a green stitch (magenta is a complementary color to green, Yellow is a complementary color to blue).
So for best results save with AdobeRGB and run an action on black and white images.
Calibrated monitor
The last important thing is to see the right colors on your screen. There are various monitors and calibration equipment. (We strongly recommend Eizo monitors that are very good at displaying a wide range of colors such as Adobe RGB).
To check that your screen reproduces the correct colors, it is a good idea to have a reference, such as a color copy, that you can compare with the same image on your screen. You can send in a picture in eg 20 × 30 as a reference copy to us. Choose an image with many colors and shades (And remember to save properly with Adobe RGB). This is useful to do for both you and us, and we do it for free!
View the reference image in normal indoor daylight and make sure the screen is not surrounded by bright light or strong colors.

Convert photos to sRGB for use on websites and social media. Then your customers can also see and share the photos online.

A tip is to make a recurring reminder in your calendar one week before your broadcast date. Then you remember to order within the deadline for your regular delivery from Lundeby :)
Should you need a "Panic Shipping" between the shipping days, it goes well. In such cases, you will be charged for a regular shipping.
